Thanks for checking out the ScuttlePuck hockey podcast!

Dec 7, 2014

This week, on the ScuttlePuck hockey podcast.

In Around the National Hockey League, we discuss how Montreal Canadiens great Jean Beliveau passed away at the age of 83.  Pete and Mike pay tribute and reflect on his legacy.

Also, Daniel Alfredsson of Ottawa Senators retired and we discuss whether his season in Detroit will affect his legacy.  George Parros retired after a long career with the Anaheim Ducks, Los Angeles Kings, Florida Panthers, Colorado Avalanche and Montreal Canadiens.

Are the fancy stats predictions coming true, or is it all bunk as Pete would have you believe?

The game of the week was an excellent battle between the Pittsburgh Penguins, playing with a depleted roster, and the Vancouver Canucks.  The coaching matchup between long time friends Willie Desjardins and Mike Johnston made it all the more compelling. Also, two players with Belleville connections proved dominant as former Belleville Bulls star Shawn Matthias scored once and Belleville native Brad Richardson scored twice.

Listen in to get our thoughts on the game and the story lines.

All this and more on this week's ScuttlePuck.
